March 1st - Race Cancelled

The race has been offically cancelled. The fix for the lift will not be complete until after our new race date.

Feb. 27th - Race Postponed

The Slalom races scheduled for Sat, March 1st have been postponed. Whaleback’s chairlift broke on Thursday, requiring it to be shut down. The repair team is expected to arrive sometime late Friday. Based on a preliminary assessment, it does not appear likely that the chairlift will be fixed and operational in time for our event on Saturday. 

We are looking at rescheduling the race for Saturday, March 8th. We will communicate an update on this as soon as possible. For now the event will remain closed. No action is required by racers at this time.

Whaleback Event Info Sheet

Race Details:

• Date: Saturday, March. 1st

• Discipline: Slalom (2 full races)

• Race Registration - All registration is done online. No Day of Race registration.

• Registration Deadline: Friday, Feb. 28th at 12:00 PM

• Race Fee (Masters): $80 (Includes lift ticket)

• Race Fee (Juniors/High School/College): $60(Includes lift ticket)
• Discount will be applied after race before payment is processed.
• Pass Discount: No

• Race Day Check-in / Registration: Base Lodge

• USSS License Required: No

• NEMS Membership Required: No. See NEMS Membership Policy for more info. 

• Age Restriction: None (Racers should be able to race on a Masters-level course)

• Awards Location/Time: Upstairs in Lodge. Approx. 1 hour after the conclusion of the races.
